Darlyn Hicks Obituary
Darlyn was born June 10, 1957 at Grant, to Darrel James and Zella Maxine Williams Muirhead. She grew up in North Platte and graduated from Geneva. She returned to North Platte for a short time before moving to Hastings. Darlyn married Glen Henry Hicks on Aug. 12, 1981 at Norton, Kan., and they made their home in North Platte. She was a waitress for the Tomahawk Restaurant and several others.
Darlyn was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. She was a wonderful Mom and helped everybody.
Survivors include five sons, Joshua Hicks and William Hicks, both of North Platte, Brian Plummer of Omaha, Glen Bryant of Sioux City, Iowa, and Royal (Veronica) Bryant of North Platte; 2 daughters, Melissa (Charles) Alexander of North Platte, and Patrice Bryant of Omaha; 2 brothers, Jim (Misty) Muirhead and Bill Straub, all of North Platte; 3 sisters, Linda Ellis, Lanell (Tom) Empfield and Kathy (Bob) Barrett, all of North Platte; 22 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in North Platte with Elder Regan Wyatt officiating. The family has established a memorial. Cremation was chosen. Online condolences may be sent to www.odeanchapel.com. Odean Colonial Chapel at C and Sycamore is in charge of arrangements.

there are alot of things about sis that made her special she showeed me rockey jack and denise unconditional kindness often. she was with rockey at the end of his life and tried to help him. i will never forget her. my love and thoughts are with all of you

Darlyn love I will always cherish our memories till the end of my time, I will miss you girl. Kids my love and prayers are with you, know that. We will all be together again with her in a better place in another time. Keep in your heart that your mom is with you and will be there with you whenever you think of her. Stay strong love helps. Please love each other and lean on each other in this time and know I am here for all of you anytime. I mean that. I love you all as I have always loved your mom. although i dont know darlyn personally i feel as if i do through here niece Denise Bartholomew she and i were very close friends and she talked about Darlyn all the time i am so sorry for your lost and our thoughts and prayers are with the family now at this time of need i have felt the pain of a lost loved 1 myself so i know how u feel i just want to wish you my condolences and prayers and may god be with you right now we love you Denise and wish you and the family well with sincere condolences the Heimbuch family Jan Marty and Diane

To Darlyn's (Sis) family:
My thoughts and prayers are with you. I'll always remember as cousins going to play at Grandma's in the basement with our dolls and getting to ride Joker, Danny Boy, Blossum. Memories as children fade, but good ones always are there. I have some good ones with Sis. God Bless
