Kellie McCormick Obituary

Kellie C. McCormick, 64, of Amarillo, Texas, formerly of Paxton, died Nov. 29, 2008, at the Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas.

Kellie was born Aug. 29, 1944, at North Platte, to Clarence Andrew 'C.A.' And Grace Lawson McCormick. He grew up in Paxton and graduated from District 23 Grade School and later from Paxton High School in 1962. He attended Midland College, University of Nebraska at Lincoln and UCLA in California. Kellie then did rodeoing and was a member of the P.R.C.A.

Kellie married Pamela L. Roy on July 6, 1968, in Fremont. They lived there before moving to Texas in 1974. They then lived in Hereford before moving to Amarillo in 1990. Kellie was an owner-operator of his own truck and leased out to different customers. He was also a custom harvester during the summer months.

Kellie is survived by his wife, Pam of Amarillo; a daughter, Michelle (Gene) Cox of Denton; his son, Shawn (Tania) McCormick of Artesia, N.M.; four grandchildren, Tyler, Bryce, Tiffani and Melissa; a sister, Sharon Neff of Lincoln, Calif.; his brother Gary (Diane) McCormick of Paxton; and several nieces, nephews and other family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Dr. Lewis McCormick.

Memorials are suggested to Union Bank and Trust in Lincoln for Marshall DeBoer or for the grandchildren. Online condolences may be left at odeanchapel.com.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. (MT) Saturday, Dec. 6, 2008, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Paxton with Pastor 'Woody' Elwood Hipple officiating. Burial will be in the Paxton Cemetery.

Visitation is from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. (CT) Friday at Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore and before services at the church. Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore in charge of arrangements.
