Gordon Remington Obituary

Gordon C. Remington, 85, peacefully left us on Saturday afternoon. Born on Aug. 11, 1929, in West Pittston, Pa., he was the son of the late Charles and Olive Remington. Gordon served in the U.S. Navy and worked as an engineer at the Bell Telephone Company of Pennsylvania for 37 years.
He is survived by his wife, Vicki, having had a wonderful 58 years together; and by his sons, Wayne (Cindy) and Brian (Pat); by his grandchildren, Kelly Beacham, Courtney Remington, Tracy Remington, Blair Garcia and William Remington; and by his great-grandchildren, Evan, Mason and Ava Beacham. Gordon is survived by his brother, Charles Francis Remington (Alice).
Gordon's passions were photography, woodworking, golf and studying history, where he had a great passion and admiration for Abe Lincoln. He lived by the credo of "If," by Rudyard Kipling. The Episcopal Church was a big part of his life, where he served in many roles from his early youth at Trinity Church in West Pittston, Holy Comforter Church in Drexel Hill, Pa., Resurrection Church in Shalimar, Fla., and St. Jude's Episcopal Church in Niceville, Fla.
We are eternally gratefully for the loving care of Gentiva and Emerald Coast Hospice, Dr. Tidwell and staff, and the Bee Hive. A special thanks to Sheri, Stephanie and Carl for their thoughtful care.
His wishes were to be cremated and a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 28, at St. Jude's Episcopal Church, 200 N. Partin Drive, Niceville, FL. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Emerald Coast Hospice.

We are thankful that we had the opportunity to serve and spend time with Mr. Gordon. He surely made the poem, If, a part of himself because the tenet stayed with him. We have admiration for Ms. Vicki-thank you for your example of love, courage and tenacity. God be with each of you in your family.
Love from all of us at the Bee Hive
