Barbara A. Greenwell Valparaiso / Merrillville Barbara A. Greenwell, age 68, of Valparaiso, formerly of Merrillville, passed away on Wednesday, August 25, 2004 at Porter Memorial Hospital in Valparaiso. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, James "Bernie" Greenwell; four sons: Bradley (Karen) of Glen Ellyn, IL, Todd (Kristi) of Springfield, MO, Jeffrey (Christina) of Edwardsville, IL and Bryan Greenwell of Lake Station, IN; three grandchildren: Holly, Erik and Alyssa; five sisters: Katherine (Otto) Truitt of Aurora, IL, Carolyn (Charles) Ruesken of Brainard, MN, Judith Filippo of Yardley, PA, Dolores Baranek of Calumet City, IL and Virginia Dugan of Oak Forest, IL; one brother, Jerome Marcec of Belvidere, IL; mother-in-law, Marie Greenwell of Griffith, IN; numerous nieces and nephews; one brother-in-law, Lavern of Scottsdale, Az; three sisters-in-law, Dorothy Konopasek of Griffith, Emily Gindl of Schererville and Faye Koby of Beaverton, OR. Preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, John Jr. and Ervin Marcec. Visitation will be private for immediate family only. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, September 3, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 200 E. 78th Ave., Merrillville, IN, with Father Andrew Corona officiating. Barbara's passion was her craft shopping. Her loving family meant everything to her, who along with her loving friends will miss her greatly.
