Bruce Chalmers Obituary
Bruce Chalmers, age 61, of Hebron, born and raised in Buffalo, NY, passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at home with his family by his side. Bruce is survived by his wife, Linda; daughter, Lori (Mark) Williams of Hebron; two grandchildren: Tyler and Connor; aunt and uncle: Russell and Sally Glunz of Buffalo, NY; and numerous other loving relatives. He was preceded in death by his son, Mark Chalmers. Bruce worked as a marine service engineer for 37 years, formerly worked at Sperry Marine/ Air Services out of Cleveland, OH, and most recently employed by Mittal Steel. He was a member of The American Legion Kouts #301 and was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Vietnam from 1970 to 1971. Bruce was an avid fisherman. A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held on Monday, November 15, 2010 at 10:00 AM at Geisen Funeral Home, 624 N. Main St., Hebron, IN with Pastor Kathie Jones officiating. Friends may visit with the family at Geisen Funeral Home, Hebron on Sunday, November 14, 2010 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM. The family would greatly appreciate memorial contributions be given to the following organizations in lieu of flowers: Porter County Cancer Society, 2502 Beech St. #60, Valparaiso, IN 46383 or VNA Hospice of Valparaiso, IN, 2404 Valparaiso St., Valparaiso, IN 46383. Dear Linda, we are very sorry for your loss. Bruce was a great friend to us. We will miss him greatly, I alwasy had a good time with him, fishing and hanging out at the alley. His dry sense of humor and his facial expressions used to crack me up. He will always be in our hearts and prayers.
