Doreen Jurkash Obituary
Doreen Jurkash, age 53, of Munster, IN passed away on Monday, November 30, 2015. She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Anthony Jurkash; sons: Tony (Sarah), John (Mallory) and Michael Jurkash; granddaughter, Matilda Jurkash; father, Richard Moldrawski; sisters: Denise Rich and Deborah (Rich) Jezuit; brother, Mark (Oralia) Moldrawski; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret Moldrawski and brother, Jeff Moldrawski. Visitation will be on Friday, December 4, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN, and on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday December 5, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas More Church, 8501 Calumet Ave., Munster, IN. Doreen dedicated 15 years of her life helping and mentoring hundreds of children as a teacher's aide at Frank H. Hammond elementary. She actively volunteered in community organizations, as well as her children's activities, which included volunteering for six years as a religious formation teacher at St. Thomas more Church. Praying for the family during this difficult time. Mrs Jurkash was the aide in Mrs Markovich's class when my daughter was in kindergarten. My daughter loved her and all the hugs she got. We will miss her.

Mrs. Jurkash was my youngest daughters kindergarten aide at FHH. Molly always talked about her smile and hugs, "she was the best hugger." She loves her and was so sad to hear of her passing.

Doreen, we went to grade school together from 3rd through 7th grades. Hi Debbie. I have a very special place in my heart for you and that group of classmates. Although I have not seen you in a very long time. I see you have a loving family of whom I wish sincere condolences .They have truly been blessed to have shared your life for a good number of years. I see you were doing good things helping others of which I am proud of you. Goodbye Doreen until we meet again.

Our deepest condolences to the Jurkash Family. The community has lost an incredible friend and mentor. Mrs. Jurkash was a gift to our family. The bond that she created with our children will remain within our hearts and memories forever. We have been truly blessed to have known and loved her.
