JOHN ERIC LAIL

JOHN ERIC LAIL FORMERLY OF DYER/ST. JOHN, IN FORMER CALUMET REGION ENTREPRENEUR John Eric Lail was born on November 1, 1965 and died on September 20, 2011. He was a resident of Dyer/St. John, IN for 38 years and most recently lived in Seattle, WA. John attended St. John Evangelist Catholic School, Kahler Middle School, Lake Central High School and Purdue University Calumet. John had a great interest in TV broadcasting and politics, and an avid love of golf and other sports. He was an entrepreneur in every sense, and owned and operated various businesses in the Calumet Region for many years including: Aurelio's Pizza in Hobart, First United Mortgage and Open House Productions, both in Dyer. It was through Open House Productions that John produced a weekly Sunday morning cable television show highlighting Calumet Region real estate, lifestyle and culture called "The NWI Open House Show." John also freelanced as production assistant for the Chicago White Sox and Bulls games. John's interest in politics started early and led him to serve as a precinct committeeman. He was very proud of his membership in the Shriners. John was preceded in death by his parents: Tom and Tommie (Nurisha) Lail of St. John. He is survived by his brother, Thomas Lail Jr. of Honolulu, HI; sister, Marie Lail Blackburn of Seattle, WA; sister, Denise (Randy) Purkey of Lowell, IN; and brother, Brent (Carol) Lail of Castle Rock, CO; and many nephews, grand nephew, nieces and grand nieces, uncles, aunts, and cousins. John was beloved by all and will be missed forever. A Memorial Mass for John will be held Saturday, November 12, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Holy Name of Jesus Christ Catholic Church, 11000 W. 133rd Ave., Cedar Lake, IN with celebrant Fr. Ed Tlucek. Please join the family at 10:00 a.m. prior to the Mass for visiting and fellowship.
