Joseph Maynard Obituary

Joseph E. Maynard, Sr.

Joseph E. Maynard, Sr., 48, of Owensboro, KY, passed away Saturday, July 26, 2025 in Breckenridge County. He was born in Merrillville, Indiana and was a 1995 honors graduate of Edison High School in Lake Station, Indiana.

Joseph earned a degree at IvyTech College where he studied hydraulic engineering. He went on to work as a millwright in industrial maintenance. Joe most recently worked at Specialty Food Group.

He married his high school sweetheart in 1998 and became a dedicated husband, loving father, wonderful provider and, in many ways, a teacher. Joe lived life to the fullest and especially enjoyed fishing and boating. He was generous with his time, and with his ability to fix things, he helped many people.

Joseph was preceded in death by his father, Ricky Lynn Maynard; and many extended family members.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, LaDonna Maynard; one son, Joseph E. Maynard, Jr. (fiancee' Cheyenne Miller); mother, Sandra Kay Dobson (Steve); brother, Ricky Maynard (Kelly); niece and nephews, Jordan, Matthew and Joseph Maynard; sister-in-law, Wendie Perez (and her children, Matthew and Jimmy Rusher-whom he treated like his own); as well as brothers-in-law, Jason Webb and Ricky Perez, who he was also especially close to. He will be dearly missed by many.

My child given by our Lord until your name was called home to return to our Lord at will. The Lord's will is done. Rest in the peace of our Lord my Joseph. Momma has been shown so many things of the spirit. My gift from God kept me from speaking as the Lord filled me with the spirit of God for the longest ever over 12 to 14 days, from the call. Then the Holy Ghost and Grace has filled me as God carries me 80 days now. On the third day it was revealed to me you were thru the valley of death in the light, love, peace of our Father. Surely i am humbled, fearful of our Lord as all should be. I miss you so this pain will be with me until we are together again grief will never leave me Joseph til the promise is fulfilled for me. To know you is to know Love. Thru all your days and trails you were as God wanted us all to be. Never a bad word against anyone, never judgement, never retribution, never even in your darkest days always giving of yourself always the peace maker accepting of all God put in front of you without question always the rare spirit. I thank God for your essence brought into our life. I see how LaDonna and you entwined into one with the love we all hope for, since you were 14 years of age into adulthood, blessed with your namesake to continue to fill the world with your descendants as the stars fill the sky. I feel you all around in all i see the continuum. watch for your mother til God calls my name son for only our Father knows that time. The Promise, so i wait and walk the narrow path. Glory be to God.
