Julius Vincent Obituary

Julius Vincent Whiting, IN Julius Vincent, age 79, of Whiting, passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2003 at St. Catherine Hospital, East Chicago. He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Eliane; daughter, Michele of Portland, Oregon; two sisters, Lillian (Art) Bartock of Hessville and Mary Lou Vincent of Detroit, MI; sister-in-law, Jacqueline (late MAarc) Paris of France; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 17, 2003 at 9:30 a.m. from the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119th St., Whiting, IN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00 a.m. at St. Adalbert Church, Whiting, with the Rev. John E. Kalicky, C.PP.S. officiating. Interment, St. John Cemetery, Hammond. Visitation at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 to 7 p.m. Julius Vincent was born on April 4, 1924 in East Chicago, Indiana, to Julius and Mary (Urzik) Vincent and was a lifelong resident of the Calumet Region. A member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Whiting, whose members will gather for prayer at the funeral home on Sunday at 4:00 p.m. A WWII Army Veteran having served in the European Theatre; a member of American Legion Allied Post #369 who will Post Colors at the funeral home Sunday at 6:00 p.m. and conduct graveside services on Monday. A member of Blue Army of Our Lady of Fatima and was a long time owner and operator of Vince's Barber Shop in Whiting; and was a former employee of the Lever Bros. Company. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Humane Society in Munster, or the charity of your choice, would be appreciated. 219-659-4400
