Margaret Stetson Obituary
Margaret Alice Stetson, age 90, a resident of Hammond, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2011. She was born on January 8, 1921 in Hammond, IN the daughter of Martha Lena Nehring, adopted and raised by David and Eloise Akin, and was known as Dorothy. She attended Hammond Tech. Margaret worked for many years as a custodian for the Hammond Public Schools. Margaret was a member of Bethel Bible Church in Hammond and she loved to sew, garden, and was an incredible letter writer. Margaret was a wonderful mother and grandmother, who dearly loved her family. Margaret is survived by her loving family; daughters: Juanita Sue Stahl of Hobart and Linda (Frank) Stroney of Owensville, MO; sons: David (Juanita) DeLoera of Hammond, Daniel (Marilee) Stetson of Burnsville, MO and Benjamin (Tammy) Stetson of Virden, IL; 26 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren; daugher-in-law, Rosalee Loera; and other loving family and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Benjamin Stetson; and son, Joseph Loera. A private visitation and family burial was held on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at Big Prairie Everett Cemetery in White Cloud, MI. To Dan Stetson and entire family. Please accept my sincere condolences for the loss of your Mother. I've known Danny since 8th grade and remember his Mom & Dad. Lost contact with Dan years ago - but still remember him and his parents. They were some of the best!!!
