VALPARAISO, IN - Mary Jo Vosberg, 86, of Valparaiso passed away on December 13, 2023. Born in Freeport, IL on October 24, 1937, to Sherman and Josephine (Meyer) Beggin, she graduated from Immaculate Conception Academy in Dubuque, IA. Following her studies at Merredian School for Practical Nurses in Marshalltown, IA, she earned her LPN. Mary Jo commenced her nursing career at Xavier Hospital in Dubuque before marrying David Vosberg on June 6, 1959, in Apple River, IL.
Embracing her roles as a mother, wife, and grandmother, Mary Jo found joy in cooking and baking, notably for numerous church funeral luncheons. Among her cherished activities were dancing with her husband David, daily walks appreciating nature, collecting recipes and cookbooks, antiquing, exploring new restaurants, staying updated on fashion trends, and selecting the perfect gifts for herself and others.
Survived by her husband, David Vosberg, and their children, Michele Moore (Noel) of Chicago, IL, Bradley Vosberg (Sandra Snearly-Vosberg) of Dyer, IN, Lisa Taneff (James) of Sunrise Beach, MO; brother, Robert Beggin, and grandchildren: Noel, Rebecca, Brendan, Kevin, and Patrick. Mary Jo was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Patrick, and James Beggin.
Friends are invited to watch the funeral mass, which will be livestreamed at this link https://saintpaulvalpo.org/live-stream-and-social-media/ on Friday, December 22, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. The in-person funeral mass will be privately held for family at St. Paul Catholic Church in Valparaiso, followed by burial at St. Paul's Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to St. Paul Catholic Church for Funeral Luncheons.

Michele, Brad, Lisa..I have so many fond memories of your sweet mom, from way back in Muskegon until very recently when I saw her at Lake Geneva when Patrick graduated. She was the epitome of a sweet, kind, gentle soul. I will forever remember her kindness and some fun that she and your dad and family had back in the Sacred Heart days. God Bless her and your family.
