Matthew Perkovich, age 96, lifelong resident of South Chicago. Beloved husband of the late Mary. Loving father of Michael Perkovich and Dolly (Nick) Hecimovich. Devoted grandfather of Jaime (Michael) Voigt and Nicholas Hecimovich. Great-grandfather of Hannah and Matthew Voigt. Dear son of the late Ivan and late Manda Perkovich. Dear brother of Robert (late Mary) Perkovich, Ann (late Tom) Dujmovich, Manda (late Mike) Dosen, Lucille (John) Spudich and Helen Perkovich. Preceded in death by siblings: Mary, Stephen, Daniel (late Helen), Luke (late Sophie) Perkovich and Kate (late Joe) Buncich. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Mr. Perkovich was a WWII veteran. He was the oldest parishioner of Sacred Heart Parish, member of Holy Name Society and member of the former A. L. Lulich Ogrizovich Post. Visitation Thursday, January 21, 2010 from 2:00-9:00 p.m. at the Elmwood Chapel, 11200 S. Ewing Ave., Chicago and again on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. DIRECTLY at Sacred Heart Church, 2864 E. 96th Street, Chicago, IL.
