Minnie Louise (Turks) Tiller

Minnie Louise (Turks) Tiller, born February 7, 1931, in East Chicago, IN, to the late Tallis & Minnie Lee Turks, exchanged time for eternity, on February 1, 2025.

Known by most as Louise, she accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. Louise graduated from East Chicago Washington High School, class of 1949. May 19, 1951, she married Robert Tiller Sr. and to this union, 5 children were born. She wore many hats, such as Cub Scout Den Mother, Sunday School teacher, and seamstress, just to name a few. She was a Lifetime member of the NAACP and worked in her church, St John's Lutheran Church. She graduated from Ivy Tech Community College and held many positions in the community until her health declined and relocated to Indianapolis, IN.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, 2 daughters: Stephanie & Robyne Tiller; grandson, Ronald Carpenter Jr.; and 2 siblings. Her legacy of love leaves to cherish her beloved daughters: Liona (Herbert) Bullock Jr.; Melanie (Leon) Mason; son, Robert (Cheryl) Tiller Jr.; sister, Darnel Williams; sister-in-law, Ruby Tiller; 16 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
