Robert Fane Obituary

GRIFFITH, IN - Robert Fane, 67, of Griffith, IN, passed away of natural causes while on a trip on November 11, 2023. Born to Edna and John Fane, Bob grew up in Schererville and graduated from Purdue University Calumet. He was an Electrical Technician for the Chicago Tribune from 1984 until he retired in 2018.
Bob was an avid drummer and was frequently in rock bands. He loved music - whether listening to records, watching live shows, or performing himself.
Although mostly reserved, he had a wicked sense of humor and a booming laugh. He was our gentle giant.
Bob is survived by former wife, Dawn Paris; their children, Brandon (Victoria) Fane and Krysten (David Marshall) Fane; grandchildren, Anderson Fane and Elliott Fane Marshall; and siblings: Bruce (Glenna) Fane, Jan Fane, and Karen Hughes.
A visitation will be held for Robert on Saturday, November 18, 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 19, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. All services will be held at CALUMET PARK FUNERAL CHAPEL, 7535 Taft Street, Merrillville, IN 46410. Lunch will follow the services.

Such a special friend and amazing man he was. I think of him often; of adventures from early childhood to right after my husband passed. The Fane family was truly Blessed to have him in your lives. Sincerest sympathies in your loss. Prayers from me to you all.
