John Van Patten Obituary

VAN PATTEN-John Tyler.

1/10/1946-9/6/2016. We have lost our beloved father, brother, uncle and friend, but his gentle spirit will always be with us. John was born in Brooklyn. He attended Erasmus Hall and went to work at the New York Daily News at 18 years old. He was a proud member of the brotherhood of Printers and Pressmen & the International Printing and Graphic Communications Union. Johnny loved and appreciated people and they loved appreciated him in return. He had a profound interest in almost everything and a zeal for life which he shared generously with all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard & Eleanor Van Patten; his brother, Dick Van Patten; and his nephew, Casey King. He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Favata; his sisters, Joyce Van Patten and Marjorie Montaperto (John); his brothers Byron (Ellen) and Tim (Wendy) Van Patten; his beloved nephews and nieces and countless dear friends. He will be buried at the family gravesite in Green-wood Cemetery.
