ARLENE GROSSMAN Obituary

GROSSMAN--Arlene Petroff. The Rockefeller University notes with sadness the passing of our dear friend Arlene Grossman. With her beloved husband, Ed, Arlene championed and supported pioneering biomedical research initiatives, with the goal of improving opportunities for the prevention and treatment of cancer and other diseases. At Rockefeller, we are especially grateful to Arlene and Ed for their outstanding commitment to cancer research under the direction of Dr. Sohail Tavazoie and for establishing the Edmund A. and Arlene Grossman Clinical Scholarship at the University. Arlene was a woman of great charm, warmth, and generosity, whose visionary philanthropy and humanitarianism will live on through her many acts of kindness. Our hearts go out to Ed and to everyone whose life she touched. Russell L. Carson, Chair David Rockefeller, Honorary Chairman Marc Tessier-Lavigne, President Sohail Tavazoie, Leon Hess Assistant Professor

I lived in Buffalo Grove, and knew Arlene then, we've been in Florida for 20 years, but I have a recipe from Arlene from way back then....I will always treasure it.

With deepest sympathy to the family during your time of sorrow. Psalms 46:1 says: God is for us a refuge and strength during this difficult time and may God grant you the comfort to endure.
