Benjamin Seligman Obituary

SELIGMAN--Benjamin D. July 10, 1904 to August 3, 2007. After 103 happy and fulfilled years, Benjamin David Seligman passed away peacefully. Beloved by his wife Florence, his daughters Stephanie and Nicole, their spouses Robert and Joel, and the grandchildren of his twilight years, Chloe and Adam. Born in Keyport, NJ, the son of Nathan and Sophie Seligman, he was a graduate of Columbia Law School and with his late brother Edward founded the law firm Seligman & Seligman. He loved the law and practiced until past his 100th birthday. His wisdom, guidance, strength and devotion to family will be deeply missed by all of us. In deference to his wishes, funeral services will be private.

I never met Mr. Seligman, but I was a great admirer of him. My aunt, Madeline Chmielinski, worked for him, and often said she would not retire until Mr. Seligman did.
Our whole family rejoiced when his grandchildren were born!
Please accept our condolences.

I worked with and for Ben over 40 years ago, and still am in awe of his energy, ability, and acumen. My prayers are with his family, whom he loved so much.
