Dan was a very good friend of mine for over 35 years. We met at Gould Farm and stayed friends. Dan's humor, kindness and big hearted love was so refreshing and life-giving. Dan joined in family vacations and was extended family to us. He kept us in stitches and was so open and caring to all there. My cousin and I were just reminiscing about our beauty pageant skit, and how Dan stole the show.
Dan was a favorite son and "mayor" of the New Jewish Home. He knew just about everyone there. He was very kind to chat with the seniors there; the residents were so happy for this. Dan was such a good soul, faithful to God and kind to his neighbors. He touched many lives along the way,
Dan loved his family and was very proud of them. He would tell me about his brother and sisters and his parents. He was so glad to be living closer to them when he moved to Mamaroneck. He loved all his family and was happy when good things happened to them: marriages, children, success (like Jules and his comany, Nick and his comedy)- such a gifted family. Dan also took the lemons and made lemonade.
I am very blessed that he came into my life and remained a steadfast friend. I still have much to integrate into my life that Dan taught and showed me. I am grateful for his honesty and his ability to see the good in others.
I am sorry I missed the funeral. My sincere condolences to all the family and everyone that knew and loved Dan. May he rest in peace.
