Born October 18, 1929 in Los Angeles, CA. Died September 16, 2016 at his home in Manhattan. Graphic designer, artist, gifted amateur chef. Beloved and deeply mourned by Jill Byatt, his wife of 31 years, sister Elaine and his many friends.

Elliot was a truly fabulous man and a terrific artist. I miss his insightful humor and kindness shown to myself as well as to his fellow artists/students in my 'painters studio' at the 92StreetY. My sincere condolences are sent to his loved wife, family and world of friends.

My late husband, John, and I were fortunate to have designed books under Elliot's direction at McGraw-Hill in the late '60s and early '70s. He was an excellent art director.
