Professor Halpern was my instructor at New York City Community College 1952-1954.
His classes and his encouragement through out the 2 years were an inspiration for me to pursue a degree in education teaching graphic arts for 30 years. It was one of the highlights of my association with him when he asked me to become an instructor at the college for a number of years. I returned to the public schools of Long Island where I continued to teach graphic arts until my retirement in 1990.
My wife and I moved to Florida in 1997. Had I known he and his wife were also living in Florida, it would have been my pleasure to have connected with him and paid him a visit.
He was a friend and caring person to all.
May he rest in peace.

I extend my condolences to the entire family. I have wonderful memories of dealing with Dean Halpern, when working at the Voorhees Campus on 41at Street in Manhattan.
Dean Halpern made the entire campus feel like a college family.
