Dear Mrs. Klein,
Please accept my condolences on the death of your beloved and accomplished husband. He was one of my attendings during my residency at The New York Hospital many years ago and I remember him fondly.

I graduated CUMC in 1971. Harvey' was my chief redident when I was on medicine as a 3rd year student. He was a superb teacher and a true gentleman. I will always have the fondest of memories of him.
May he rest in peace

I send my condolences to all of you in his family, and his friends. I enjoyed knowing Harvey when I was a resident and GI fellow at NYH, and remember him for his competence, leadership qualities and good sense of humor. He had an important impact on that institution and all who knew him, including me. He is one of those I remember most at NYH.

Harvey and Patti have always been important parts of my childhood lore. It is so sad to lose one of the few people who knew me since I was 5 and who shared the same Minot legends as my Dad. I realized, when Harvey kindly came to visit my Dad here in Rochester when he was ill, that Harvey was one of the very few people who could make me feel like a little girl again (in a good way). I am so very sorry for your loss.

I am so saddened by the passing of Dr. Klein! I send my deepest and heartfelt sympathies to his family. He was my Dr and my confidant for over 30 years! I loved his warmth, his compassion, his sense of humor and his Yiddishkeit!! He loved to make fun of the fact that I was a small town Jewish kid from Canada trying to make it big in NYC when we first met. Not only did he take such good care of my wife ( Lynn Lurie) and my physical health for so many years, but he also advised and guided me through many personal and work issues, always lending an ear and providing sage advice. He was my bellweather when I needed guidance. I feel like there is a large hole in my life without his presence. I will miss him dearly !
