Herbert Barrett and my father were cousins, close friends and office mates at 250 W. 57 Street. While I was growing up, I spent time with Herbert on innumerable occasions, frequently at lunch with my father at the Admiral Restaurant in the building.
My father died 52 years ago. Later I left New York and lost contact with Herbert until six years ago when I contacted him and we had wonderful lunch together near his office. Herbert told me much about my father that I did not know and it was a joy to spend this time together. Herbert was always very kind to me. I send my condolences to his family.
At this late date, I would like to understand exactly how Herbert and my father were cousins. I would be grateful if one of his daughters to let me know how to contact her.

I had the privilege of working for Mr. Barrett for 8 1/2 years. One of the things I remember most is how artists were always impressed that when they arrived at the office, he would come out of his office and greet them like family. He was an old world gentleman, and one of the great managers in this business. I feel very fortunate to have had been able to work so closely with him and learn from one best. My condolences to his family. Laura Hartmann

Mr. Barrett's passing is a great sadness to me. I was very fortunate to have worked at the HBM for four years, and feel privileged to have known him and been a part of his business. My condolences go out to his family, friends, and to all his wonderful colleagues at Herbert Barrett Management.
