JANE REIS Obituary

REIS--Jane Hines. January 17th. Jane was predeceased by her beloved husband Myron (Mike) and her adored sister Jovce Rose Hines. Jane earned a bachelor's degree from Hunter College and a master's degree from New York University. She was proud of her graduations from both Hunter College High School and the Center for Modern Psychoanalytical Studies. Born in the Bronx Jane moved to Manhattan to study acting. She also pursued careers in teaching English, counseling and psychoanalysis. She retired from the faculty of Seward Park High School in Manhattan. Jane was a spirited, witty, loving friend who excelled in uncovering psychological truth and in forthrightly expressing her feelings. She is mourned by close friends and members of Mike's family. I am writing to express my sadness at the loss of my dear Aunt Jane. I visited her this past August with my grandson, Andrew, never dreaming it would be the last time I'd see her. She seemed to be charting an optimistic course for the future following the death of Uncle Mike. We were all shocked to hear of her illness and rapid downhill course. My husband Steve and our children and grandchildren all join me in expressing condolences to her many friends and colleagues.
