MARGOT JUDGE Obituary

JUDGE--Margot Perona, of Roxbury, CT. died unexpectedly on the 11th of September while vacationing in Maine with her husband Jerry of 58 years, from a sudden and unforeseen aortic arch dissection. Margot was born January 10, 1930. She married Jeremy Judge, June 27, 1953 after a year abroad following her graduation from Douglas College. Margot was the loving mother of Geoff, Jennifer and Peter, and encouraged them in their professional pursuits and marriages to three amazing women, Mary Ann, Ethelind and Kathy. She enjoyed loving and close relationships with her grandchildren, Jennifer, Alex, Eric and Louis, her cousin Betty, and her sister-in-law Jen Howes and her children Deborah, Wendy, Cindy and Chris, and grandchildren Ashley, Willie, Hank, Noli, Clara and Jack with whom they enjoy the property in Roxbury. Margot was a tremendous volunteer raising money for a myriad of worthy causes while also knitting together a fabulous quilt of dear friends. As one friend put it, "Margot Judge comes from an era of utterly classy ladies, family first, a matriarch with warmth, honesty and generosity for all that had the pleasure of relishing her company" Charitable donations may be made in memory of Margot Judge to either Christ Episcopal Church, 4 Weller's Bridge Rd, Roxbury, CT 06783 or to Minor Memorial Library, 23 South Street, Roxbury.

We're all set to have a lovely Margot Caroling Party this Tuesday at Gramercy Park. First one without her in I'm guessing ~50 years. No matter where we lived, Middletown, Rumson, Wellesley or Manhattan, we always held a Caroling party. And of course, it was her party.

Love you mom xoxoxoxoxo

Dear Jerry et al,

I loved Margot like a second mother, as did all my sisters. She has a special place in my life, as a loving and humorous friend I was always ecstatic to see, from the time I was tiny, to the present day (50 years and counting). The last time I saw Margot was at Mars' wedding in mid-August, when she told me about a young man who was a docent at a museum she had been to. She wanted to put me in touch with him, because he wants to be an actor, and she thought he was an especially wonderful docent. That was typical - Margot loved people, and would try to build bridges between them. I was totally shocked by her passing, just because it never really occurred to me that she could leave us. Margot was always so young, vivid, vivacious, and entertaining, it still doesn't seem possible that the world is without her. You all have been in Tim's and my thoughts ever since we heard the news. We wish you peace and send love as you heal from this very difficult time.

love,
Marcia
