MARTIN SIEGEL Obituary

SIEGEL--Martin (Marty). Marty was a special person, a good friend and a true lover of life. He enjoyed singing and dancing and was a great storyteller. Marty was a dedicated tennis player and a star athlete in his youth at Abraham Lincoln High School in Brooklyn, NY. His pre-med studies were interrupted by WWII in which he served as a pilot in the United States Army Air Force. After his service he joined his father Benny Siegel in the gasoline petroleum industry. When his father died Marty took hold of the business and made it a further great success. Although he is no longer with us he will not be forgotten. We don't mourn his passing but celebrate his life, and not to be overlooked is a shot of JWB. As Marty told it, one was for him and one for his dad. Now let it be one for Marty and one for the celebration of his life. Marty's son Jeff predeceased him. He leaves behind his loving wife, Nancy, daughter, Dorian, stepson, Rick, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ellie and Arnold Azarow

Marty was a true friend. He took a genuine interest in people and gently urged them to do better (sometimes not too gently). I know, because I was one of those that he inspired in business, personal life, and of course in playing the game of tennis which he truly loved. Tennis was one of his passions and he didn't tolerate slackers on the court.
