Dearest Jean and Family,
We are blessed to have shared wonderful times together. Michael truly had a light that set him apart. His deep sense of generosity was an example to all. That he was surrounded by so much love in the last days is a comfort to all of us who will miss him. We will always remember his words, "Stay well" that were said at parting. Know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.

Hi Michael,
We're just finishing an outdoor kitchen here in KB. You should see the grill, 53"with a searing section. I will be cooking the first steak in your honor, and I know you are smiling down at us.

Michael, I wish I could still hear your sweet voice--I still do in my mind. You were my best cousin, and I will always miss you and remember all the wonderful times you, Jean, Stephen and I had. We were so lucky to live next door to each other and to be able to share so many happy times. We were all blessed to have had you in our lives.
My love to Jean, Ryan, Chris, Kathleen, and all the grandchildren. Alice

Dear Michael,
Words do not express how much I have missed you. I missed our email ‘chats,’ rooting for the Jets, cringing over their losses, celebrating their wins. I can feel I can write to you now and you are listening. Going to the races at Belmont, our trip to Saratoga, racing in the R6; chowing down at Ruth’s Christ or Peter Lugars, those times are so missed. Our time in Quogue, always something so simple was so special. Cooking on the grill, fishing with Christopher and Ryan, avoiding the ‘wedges’ on the weekends. My love goes out to Jean who has been more than strong throughout this test of love; to Ryan, Christopher, and Kathleen who I never saw enough of. Miss bunny, by your side is Loco is to mine. I LOVE the picture Jean picked to remember you by, and remember we will.
Love Always,
Stephen

I am so sad - I wored with Mike at the Jets (my dad was team doctor Dr. Cal Nicholas) in the 70's and what a wonderful man - I never knew what happened to him afterward and feel so badly to find out this way - May God bless his family - Connie (Nicholas) Carberg
