NICHOLAS ZALOUMIS Obituary

ZALOUMIS--Nicholas. "The Vest," was born on August 16, 1932 to Helena and George Zaloumis in New York City. He passed away on March 12, 2021. Beloved father of Andria Zaloumis Anderson and son-in-law, Ralph. He attained the rank of Corporal in the US Army; stationed in Germany. This legendary bartender worked at Rao's new york for almost 50 years. The gregarious mixologist not only served you a drink, he served you a good time, with a smile, and a few words of his wit. He literally and proudly wore his nickname, "The Vest," receiving over 300 vests from patrons, and would choose a different one to wear each night, delighting customers with his choice. He was a sports enthusiast, especially The New York Yankees and The New York Giants. He was a member of the Rao's family; he was beloved, and will be missed. He will be remembered as a good man, a loving father, a good friend, and a legendary bartender.
