Dr. Amer operated on my mother for lung cancer in the early 1990's. All other doctors (including Mt. Sinai Hospital in NYC) said the operation couldn't be preformed, yet as our final hope I took my mother to see Dr. Amer. He performed the surgery, and because of doing so, he extended my mother's life for 4 more years. I'm sorry to the Amer family, for your loss.

My most sincere condolences to the Amer family on your loss. My brother practiced with Norman for many many years and they had a wonderful friendship and professional relationship. Your loss brings back memories of two of the finest surgeons I have ever known. May they both rest in peace.
I share your loss.
