PAUL EPSTEIN Obituary

EPSTEIN--Paul H. The Proskauer community mourns the death of our retired partner, Paul H. Epstein. Among other things, Paul was a giant in the advocacy for, and representation of, performing arts. For over three decades, Paul infused his life's passions into his practice by utilizing the law to help creative artists from composers and choreographers to playwrights and authors such as Leonard Bernstein, George Balanchine, Rodgers & Hammerstein, and Twyla Tharp. Paul was a mentor and friend to many of us, and found great joy in recruiting the next generation of lawyers to share his view on how law can be used for the greater good. His special brilliance lit many paths. He will be missed. Details regarding a celebration of Paul's life will be announced for later this fall.

I knew Paul in the nineteens in Israel when he was representing the Rothschild family. A Scholar and a gentleman , art and music lover and an excellent lawyer.

I knew Paul well in our early years in Brooklyn. He was a shining star on so many levels. We shared 2 years in the SP at JHS 128. He was amazingly smart, brilliantly creative and possessed a wonderful sense of humor. He stands out as one of my best childhood memories. Last saw him at a reunion of Lafayette - so sorry we did not get together after that. Sincere condolences to all the many who got to experience the wonder of Paul
