PHILIP DODGE Obituary

DODGE--Philip Laighton, passed away peacefully at his home in Lighthouse Point, Florida on July 5, 2021, with his wife, Liliana Iribarne-Dodge, by his side. He was 86 years old. A native of Milton, MA, Phil was the son of Norman Dodge and Louise Gallaher. He graduated from Wesleyan University, Harvard Business School, and The New School. In college, he was president of his fraternity, sang a cappella, and graduated Phi Beta Kappa. After business school, Phil served in the U.S. Army as a First Lieutenant. He worked for decades as a chartered financial analyst. The Wall Street Journal honored Phil with Best on the Street many times. Phil was a regular source on the energy industry in publications such as The New York Times and the Wall Street Journal and on cable news programs, like CNN. Phil's passions included film, literature, music, tennis, and running. Phil's loved ones remember him as a kind man, with a quick wit and dry sense of humor. Phil had a thirst for adventure, which took him to exotic places across the globe. Phil is survived by his wife Liliana, his sons William Dodge and Norman Dodge, his daughter Stephanie Dodge, his children-in-law, and five grandchildren. He is predeceased by his daughter Martha Dodge. Phil's family and friends gathered for a memorial on Tuesday, July 13. The family asks for donations to Amnesty International in lieu of flowers. Phil's family will miss him every day. As his son Norman said, it was always a good time with Phil.

My condolences to Billy, Norman and Philip´s family members whom I never had the pleasure to meet. Philip was always a class act, with a great wit and dry sense of humor. He treated everyone with kindness and I recall many enjoyable meals and great times, whether it was softball, ping pong...or just chatting. He will be truly missed. (Sorry I missed his memorial due to health reasons) Yours, Brian

When a father is as wonderful as yours the hole they leave is so large it seems as though the tapestry of ours lives will fall apart. When you speak of him and remember him slowly the hole mends and in time the tear will be barely perceptible. You´ll always miss him but lucky for you the memories of him will remain. So sorry for your loss- he sounds like a wonderful Dad.
