I had the great honor of working with Mr. Bernhard in the late 1960's at Lehman Brothers. Besides being an outstanding investment banker, I experienced first hand Mr. Bernhard's qualities as a caring human being. In those days on Wall Street, the great private banking partnerships were known for their charity, both to the community and their employees. I saw first hand how Mr. Bernhard and Lehman Brothers would spare no expense in providing the best health care and services to all its employees. The same charitable philosophy was practiced in many areas of the greater community. Mr. Bernhard demonstrated the best qualities of the private bankers of his era. Mr. Bernhard's hard work, intelligence and generous spirit will be missed. Mr. Bernhard's passing is a great loss to all of us in the community. Kenneth H.
