ROLLAND ANDERSON Obituary
Rolland (Ron) Richard Anderson. January 4, 1936 - August 6, 2018. Rolland Richard Anderson, known to friends and family as Ron, passed away August 6, 2018, at the age of 82. A native of Park River, North Dakota, Ron obtained a Bachelors of Fine Arts from Wichita State University in 1958, and enjoyed a successful career in advertising, first as an Art Director at Knox Reeves in Minneapolis, and eventually as Global Creative Director with Bozell Worldwide in New York City. Ron is preceded in death by his mother and father, Esther and George, and his five siblings, Harold, Ellsworth (Al), Myron (Mike), Mildred (Mickey), and Clayton. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 60 years, Charlotte, his children, Rex, Nicole (Paul), and Matthew, grandchildren, Zoe and Ben, and members of his extended family. A memorial service was held for Ron on August 11 in Minnesota. Memorial donations in Ron's honor can be made to Ridgewood Church in Minnetonka, MN or Samaritan's Purse. To the loving wife and children of Rolland Anderson as they mourn the death of their beloved husband and father my deepest sympathy. It is very difficult to accept and cope with the death of your love one. God is the giver of all life and he is capable of restoring life.

Ron was one of the main reasons I got into advertising. I admired his work all thru high school and college. It was my dream job to someday work for him. And I was so lucky to have gotten to work with him for 5 years. I left Bozell for Ruhr, spent three years there, and when I moved to the Richards Group, he came to my going away party. That meant the world to me. He was the absolute best. Truely, the Godfather of Minneapolis Advertising.
