I knew Scott as a bon vivant, a generous supporter of Alta events, and a vivacious outspoken character and life of the party whenever he arrived on the scene. Scott, you are missed and we look forward to memorializing you at a Zenko Disco tonight in Alta. Rest in peace. We wish you well.

Scottie was a neighborhood fixture in Gramercy Park NYC. He knew all the history and dirt of the area and championed our restaurant, Casa Mono, as we struggled to get on our feet 5 years ago. He was a bon vivant who will be sorely missed. I am so sorry for you tragic loss.

I lived with Scott since October last year in the basement of his Utah home. I'm still shocked by his passing. What a funny, retro, generous guy he was. I'm glad to have known him, even for such a short time. Scotty, you took me in to your domicile after I moved out of my longtime home in the Canyon. I'll always remember you for that. rip z man!

Please accept my deepest condolences. I had the pleasure of knowing Scott at Hotchkiss. He was truly larger than life as his voice would boom around campus as he greeted people and created fun wherever he went. He could make your day with his smile, his humor and his charm. I feel so lucky to have known him...he was a special soul.

Scottie was well known to all of us who ski Alta - let's just say he always stood out. I found out however that we had even closer ties. One night while having an alumni dinner at the Shallow Shaft with my Sigma Phi brothers from Hobart, Scottie overheard that we were enjoying our reunion and as it turns out he was a Kappa Alpha from Hobart. Scottie always volunteered to help others. He did a fantastic job of helping to raise funds for the Friends of Alta as the emcee for last year's fund raiser. Scott was an honest, honorable, and very fun and a bright light. His energy and personality will be deeply missed by all who knew him. My sincere sympathy to his family.

I am devastated by this shocking news. I saw Scott at the Racquet Club all the time and played racquets with him on occasion. I am so terribly sad about this cruel blow. My deepest condolences.

Scott was one of the bright lights in Alta. It was an honor and pleasure to know him and he will be sorely missed. His great smile, dazzling wardrobe and creative wit lit up any room he entered and it's hard to believe he's gone. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends and all that knew him. I'll miss you Zenko.

Starrett, I am heartbroken for you and your family. Scott was a very unique and special person. I have thought of him often over the past few years. He was always his own man. I often think of driving with him, which was a terrifying feat. Most of all, I remember how kind he could be. He was lovely. I will miss him.
With love, Brooks Turley Klepper

I skied with Scott down High Rustler in December 2007. The powder was waist deep - I will treasure that day as he was one of the best skiers I have ever skied with. I also shared some great wine with him at the Shallow Shaft. My deepest condolences to the Zenko family he was a lovely person.

Alta will be missing that bright smile that matched those ski pants. As an Alta Ski Patroller I always knew where Scottie was for those two reasons.
I'll miss trying to carry on a conversation on a hike up to the Castle, I'll miss his enthusiasm for the people and the mountain that makes Alta so special. Scottie was a big part of it.
It's a good thing I didn't know then what I know now as far as Scottie's good taste in wine. At the Alta Peruvian Bar I'd ask, "red or white?"
He would choose beer.
I look forward to raising a glass to a kindred spirit up at Alta on the 12th.
All my Love,
erin

I was sorry to hear of the death of Russell Zenko. I did not really know him, but remember many years ago creating a hand painted bed cover for the young child, Scotty, who loved fire engines and wanted me to paint one to include with all the animals. My condolences to his mother Jere who was wonderful to work with.

Many a good time i had with Scott. Hobart, Italy, Utah. Always a good man and fun to hang out with. I am sorry that we will not get a chance to ski together again, but if he had to go, Alta would be the best place for him to see last since he loved it so. My condolences to his family.

I was very sorry to hear of the loss of Scott. I did not know him very well but we shared a lot of friends at high school as well as the same name. He was always very nice and warm spirited. He will be missed. I take solace knowing that while he got short-changed on the quantity of his years, he excelled in the quality of his time spent.

Deeply ingrained in my memory are my early years in Chicago with Scott and Starrett. Long after leaving Chicago, Scott would appear in my life for brief moments. He helped me through some of my most difficult times . John, Jere, and Starrett my thoughts and prayers are with you. Scottie will be greatly missed.

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I know this is a very difficult time for the family right nowt so what I would like to do is leave a scriptrue that may be of some comfort. It's taken from John 5:28,29. This scripture talkes about God promise in the future concerning our dead loved ones, it speaks of a resurrection that will soon take place. I hope your able to find some comfort in this scripture. My condolences to the family again.
