Susan; I admire so much all that Steve did to help people with disabilities through his work at SATH, and you were always right there by his side, working hard with him and sharing his dream. He fought very hard; for so long after most would have given in to their own health issues; and he will be missed by so many, but especially by you and his family. He was a special person.

Susan,
I watched Stephen put up a valiant fight against his various health issues. Despite this, he always seemed to remain upbeat, I know you will miss him terribly.

I met you at the very first SATH Congress and looked forward to renewing our friendship every year. You were the heart and soul of SATH and the man to whom everyone turned to "get the job done". People met you and wanted to be a part of what you believed so strongly in. Susan, my thoughts and prayers are with you during this very difficult time. It was an honor to know your wonderful husband.

Steve, my dear Steve, What can be said about a man who came into the lives of so many? You were obviously many things to many people. To those of us involved with SATH you were one of those who made us believe. We believed that you believed you could accomplish anything and that together we could accomplish so much more. The presence that was you will be sorely missed my all of us who had the pleasure of calling you friend. Rest in peace my friend, your hard fought battles are over but your memory will live on. Susan, please accept my deepest sympathies. You are in our prayers.

Steve was the first voice of SATH that I heard, and the one I found to be so welcoming to each person who came his way. He was a wonderful man who will be sorely missed. He gave so much that I am sure his place in the hereafter is assured. Our hearts and prayers are with you, Susan, and with the entire personal and professional family that Steve built and sustained.

While we will certainly miss you our friend, you must have even more lives to touch now. You helped make life for people with disabilities easier and that will always be a part of your legacy. You lived from your heart and we will never forget you. Susan and family, we all have an incredible angel looking over us now. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Those we love don’t go away,
They walk beside us everyday,
Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear. He was an integral part of SATH. We shall miss him dearly.
