Steve Eigner was my Big Brother! I had some of the best times of my life hanging out with him. I was devastated by his death after I have not seen him for 46 years! He was a great role model as a friend, musician, and family man. I happened to look for him on the internet and did a search. When he heard from me he was excited and we ate together and played music. He was a great guitarist and when I looked him up I was not surprised to see him succeed as a musician and recording engineer. He was a serious musician. And he was an angel in personality.Yes I cried a lot after he died. And also I was not surprised that he was born--again. We will see him in heaven someday. I attended his legacy at the Cutting Room and his sister allowed me to take 2 of his record albums at the Cutting Room.If I didn't lose contact with him years ago after high school( I met Steve in the classroom) , he would have taken me under his wing.

I am taking guitar lessons. If Steve did not get I'll he would be my guitar teacher. In fact if we didn't break contact in 1975. Back then and for many years I've had so-called fair weather and toxic friends. Steve would have taken me under his wing. I cried when he died.

My most heartfelt condolences to All of Steve´s family.
As a friend and associate of Steve´s during the nineties, I truly admired his work. We spent many days and hours together hanging out at Unique recording, my house, and another studio in Long Island City talking about music, sound, life, our places in the music industry.
He had been to my house on Long Island several times. Had dinner with my family and we shared a wonderful friendship during those times.
Even after our paths diverged, I have occasionally Googled his name to see what he was up to, which is how I came upon the news of his untimely passing.
Truly an inspiration to me, I cannot express enough how lucky those who have been instructed by Steve could be. He had incredible "ears", and lit up with with utmost enthusiasm when speaking about audio, guitars, recording, and of course..The Beatles.
There is a new hole in my heart at the learning of his passing.
I will not forget him...

Rest in peace Steve. I hired Steve as an intern at Unique recording studios years ago. I remember him coming in with a baseball cap on and for awhile it was part of him until one day he came in without it and he told me he was embracing the shiney spot on his head. lol His smile and laughter will always be with me. His determination to make it in an extremely tough music industry made me proud to know he made a name for himself. I still have my notes from guitar lessons he gave me too. See ya on the other side Steve. You were a good man.

I tracked Steve down after I have not seen him since 1975 when I played drums in his band. By the pandemic time I visited Steve at Rego Park and he had dinner at my place in Tribeca. We ate out also. We jammed on guitars and because I knew Steve as a great guitarist and person I'm attending bmcc college, auditing classes in music and guitar. I would be honored to attend his memorial November 12th. My number is 347-654-0610

I had the pleasure of working with Steve for years at Unique Recording Studios in New York where I managed him. As a Recording engineer Steve was incredibly skilled, had great musical taste and judgement, and knew how to make clients feel comfortable. I had the pleasure of sitting behind a drum kit a number of times with him behind the console and cherish those memories.
As a person and friend Steve was a beautiful soul. He had a great sense of humor and laugh, he listened and cared about others, he always wanted to help and took people under his wing. He was a wonderful person. He helped me out once when I needed it and I will never forget that. I regret not staying in touch with him more than I did over the years. I regret not having seen him before he passed to tell him how much our friendship meant. The world would be a better place with more people like Steve. RIP my friend.
