Laurie just called to tell me of Steven's passing. It saddened me deeply although I hadn't been in touch for so many years. I remember our poker games in great neck. I will never forget Steven Lesser.

Steve's service at the Reconstructionist Temple today was a poignant tribute with some of the most moving and heartfelt eulogies I've ever had the privilege to hear. Family & friends painted a vivid emotional canvas that included humor, love, and above all, appreciation, for a loving family man whos' life & accomplishments meant so much to so many.

I am deeply saddened to have read of Steve's passing. He and I were good friends but had not kept in touch for many years. His grin - - what a grin! I remember him telling me about his first experience at the stock exchange and the buzz he got from it and when he moved into his apartment in Chelsea. Somwhere after that we lost touch. He was a lovely guy and a good friend. My sincerest sympathy to all of his family.

Although I have rarely seen him over the last 25 years Steve has been and will live on as my best friend. What comes to mind first when I think of him is his authenticity, unpretentiousness, strength of character, honesty, wit, humor, warmth and 'goodness'. I cannot fathom the depth of his loss to Liz, the children, sisters and mother. Thank you Steve, for being a part of my life.

Dear Laura--
My brother, David, told me the sad news. I'm so very sorry to find out about your brother. Please extend my condolences to the rest of your family. I have fond memories of our friendship many years ago and the nice times we spent together at your house. Your brother was always such a kind, warm person. If you'd like to get in touch at some point, my email address is attached.
