SUSAN HILTY Obituary

HILTY--Susan Mary. Su Hilty passed away peacefully on November 25, 2024 from Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP). Born in Port Washington, Wisconsin, on February 12, 1947, Su was a lifelong learner, known for her curiosity, strong-willed nature, and sense of humor. Salutatorian of Homestead High School in Mequon, WI, she went on to the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she was an Alpha Chi Omega. In 2018, she was honored as one of the "100 Women Who Have Made a Difference" by the School of Human Ecology. Throughout 40 years in the gift and fashion industries, she made lasting contributions to companies like Bloomingdale's, Gucci, Liz Claiborne and 225 Fifth Avenue. She was recognized with several awards, including the 2023 Bert Tonkin Gift of Giving Award and the 2011 Retailer Lifetime Achievement Award. She was a dedicated supporter of causes such as the NYC AIDS Walk and the Global Give Back Circle. She is survived by her sister, Pamela Kinzler (John); nieces Lori Kinzler (Jamie Sitek), Mary Ann Pashigian (Peter); nephews Bill Brady, Mike Brady (Cristina), and Mike Kinzler (Jen); and their children. Su was predeceased by husband, Frank Brady; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Kathleen Brady; nephew, Chris Brady; and parents, Margaret and Leroy Hilty. A celebration of life will be held in Sarasota on February 12, 2025. Donations may be made in her memory to CurePSP. In her final words: "Be happy, be healthy, and most of all, be kind."

Su and I worked together at Liz Claiborne back in the 80's. She was my best boss, and we stayed in touch over the years. Su was a wonderful human. She was very kind and thoughtful and never missed a birthday or anniversary greeting.
I am so glad we went to see her in Sarasota the past couple of years. I know it meant a lot to have visitors .RIP my beautiful friend1
