Dorotea Rodriguez-Kabana Obituary

Dorotea Rodriguez-Kabana

February 19, 1944 - July 23, 2021

Dorotea Rodriguez-Kabana was born in Medellin, Colombia to Teodoro Sohm and Wilhelmine Kuehne on February 19,1944 and passed away on July 23, 2021.

She is survived by her loving husband Rodrigo Rodriguez-Kabana of 56 years. Also surviving her are her children, Mauricio (Marsha) and Cristina (Steve) Rodriguez and grandchildren Carmen Mercedes Rodriguez, Marisa Grace Rodriguez McGehee (Andrew), and Carlos Rodriguez Burford. Additionally, she is survived by brothers Oscar Dieter Sohm Kuehne (wife, Rosa Maria Sohm Correa), Wolfgang Sohm Kuehne (Amparo Gutierrez), her brothers-in-law, Felix José Rodriguez-Kabana, Leopoldo Rodriguez-Kabana and Chuck Mylius, and her sisters-in-law Carmen Parras Prieto and Maria Asuncion Rodriguez-Kabana Mylius (Chuck).

Dorotea was a most beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be greatly missed by many. The community has lost one of those rare individuals who was caring and generous to her family and everyone she met who was in need. Her contagious smile, her easy laughter, and quick wit made her the life of any gathering. The kindness, patience and compassion she poured into her family will be irreplaceable. Her family and friends celebrate her life and memory and will shed many tears at her loss until we meet her again in Heaven.

In lieu of flowers, if led to do so, the family asks that you please make a donation in Dorotea's name to her favorite charity: https://www.stjude.org/

Visitation will be held at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home Parlor Tuesday, July 27, 2021 from 5-7 pm. A Celebration of Life Mass will be on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at 10:00 am at St. Michaels Catholic Church. A burial will follow at Auburn Memorial Park.

My sympathies to you and your family. The world has lost so many wonderful people in a time when we are so isolated by this horrible pandemic.

Dr. Rodriguez/Mauricio/Christina - I´m so sorry for your loss. I have so many great memories of your mom - she was always hospitable and put up with many of our antics. She was a warm and friendly lady - and made great sandwiches for a bunch of hungry boys!

I will keep you all in my prayers for peace and comfort, especially over the next few days and weeks to come.
