Mike Fowler Obituary
Funeral service for Mike Fowler, 54, of Opelika is 11:00a.m. Saturday, August 23, 2008 at Jeffcoat-Trant Chapel. Mr. David Smith is officiating. Visitation will be held Friday 6-8p.m. at Jeffcoat-Trant Funeral Home.
Mr. Fowler, who died Tuesday, August 19, 2008 at East Alabama Medical Center, was born March 4, 1954 in Eastman, GA. He was a long time resident of Opelika and was a graduate of Opelika High School. He worked as the manager of several Tyler's Restaurant locations in the Opelika area for 30 years. Mike was an avid motorcyclist and a member of Southern Cruisers Riding Club. Papa was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Cathy Fowler of Opelika; daughter, Candy (Mike) Frantz of Opelika; son, David (Julie) Fowler of Valley; mother, Barbara Bates of Manchester, GA; and two grandchildren, Breana and Casper Frantz.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations may be directed to the American Heart Association 1101 Northchase Parkway Marietta, GA 30067.

Mike was loved and will be missed by us very much. We have many fond memories of him growing into adult hood and have shared many laughs with him. Not only was he our nephew, but our brother in Christ. Our prayers and love go out to his family.

I wanted to say that I am so very sad about Michael's passing, but I am also so glad I had a chance to be with him the last few months. I have loved Michael from the time he was born and have so many sweet memories of him. I am sorry I was not around him and the family all these years, but I will always cherish the long talks I had with him sitting under his porch canopy, just the two of us. He said he was so glad to know I was coming home and he showed it to me also. He was a precious gift that we all are honored to have had in our lives. My love to Cathy, Candy, Mike,David, Julie , Breana and Casper. I do love you all so much. My sister, Barbara- I love you and appreciate you, and will always love you, too.

Words won't ever be enough to say how our family loved Michael. He was a brother to Joe for many years and a wonderful caring cousin to us all. He and Cathy were there for us through hard times and we shared so many wonderful times as well. Michael was one of the best men I have ever had the priviledge to know. Our love and hearts go out to Cathy, his children, grandchildren and especially to Aunt Barbara. Please know we all love you, and your are always in our hearts, thoughts and prayers. God Bless and keep you at this time of loss. Although Michael is at a better place now, it still won't ever be the same without him. Rest in peace "old man", you deserve it.
