Sarah Grove Obituary

Odessa - Sarah Louise Grove, aged 86, passed away on December 18, 2025.

Sarah Louise Hardison Grove was born in Fabens, Texas on February 23, 1939. She was the daughter of Richard Marrion Hardison and Geneva Melton Hardison of El Paso, Texas. Her husband Allen Grove preceded her in death 35 years ago. Allen and Sarah loved trains, and she was known as the Train Lady. She kept Allen's shop going until it reached its 50-year anniversary.

Sarah leaves one sister Catherine Tambur of Silverdale, Washington. She was blessed with numerous nieces and nephews whom she adored, she was always thrilled when they came to visit her.

Sarah attended elementary school and high school in El Paso and graduated from The University of Texas at El Paso with a degree in elementary education. She taught for a few years in El Paso at Dowell Elementary School before she and Allen moved to Odessa. In Odessa she taught at Burleson and Pease totaling 30 years.

Sarah was a faithful member of First Christian Church where she taught Sunday School for over 50 years. Her church was her heart. She met many of her lifelong friends there, who she considered her heart family.

Sarah was generous and giving, serving her community in many ways through the years. The most recent was volunteering to deliver Meals on Wheels.

Sarah was a special person, dearly loved, enjoyed life, and loved her family and friends. She will be greatly missed.

Lost a good friend and will miss her terribly. She always had a bright smile and an infectuous laugh. She loved every one and never had a bad word to say about anyone. When we played cards a her house, she was the greatest hostess and often cooked lunch for us. Lunch was always interesting, sometimes delicious and sometimes unusual.
