Dear Wayne, Tamara and Nathan,
I have never struggled with anything the way I have struggled to find the words to describe how dear Sharon's passing has impacted me.
The many years of love and friendship you have given to Les and me are forever imprinted in our minds. No, we didn't see each other every week, but your friendship and knowing that you were always just around the corner were never taken for granted, either.
I treasure the memory of the visits at her bedside, the talks we had, the laughter, her serenity, her strength, and her unwavering faith. I will always be so very grateful to Sharon and to you as a family for granting me the privilege of sharing in her final journey.
She was like the very best friend I could ever have wished for and I miss her every day.

My heart grieves for you. I know your memories will bring smiles to your faces, peace to your mind and love to your hearts. Sharon's belief in God's plan for her makes acceptance a little easier. As you know, she was my best friend, my mentor, my teaching partner and my 'soul' sister. I treasure each moment I had to experience her overwhelming generous person and will forever miss her in my life.

We are so sorry for your loss and send you our deepest condolences. Sharon was such a vibrant, caring, woman - you will miss her terribly. When my Dad died a few years ago I took comfort in this quote that a friend sent -
"When those we love go away, they never really leave us; they are with us always, wherever we are, living on forever in cherished memories."
May your memories of Sharon sustain you during this very sad time.

Dear Wayne, Tamara, Paul and Nathan,
We are so thankful that Sharon was part of our lives and grateful for the impact she had on our family. As a teacher she instilled in our children the value of learning and education. Over the years, she was always interested in their progress and successes. As a colleague, she shared her passion for teaching and love of books. We enjoyed many conversations about kids, teaching and learning. As a friend we shared laughter, joy, tears, stories, and faith. She was an inspiration, mentor and a true friend to all of us. She will be missed and always remembered.

Sharon was the truest Kinder Angel ever! She touched so many lives both young and old. We were very lucky to have had her in our lives. She taught me so many things. Sharon will always be remembered by our family as a sweet person who opened her loving caring arms to all of her students at Millet School. Sharon championed our deafblind son as he entered school in her kindergarten class and remained with her for two years.
She introduced some of our grandchildren to the hallowed halls of learning in a way that has shown them the joy that can be found in learning and that teachers are friends!
Our daughter, Shandyn, has worked in the Millet School with Sharon and can only speak of her with admiration.
Know, as Sharon's family, that she has been yours for the most part but that she has given of herself too so many who will never ever forget the positive impact that her smiling, gentle ways have made on their lives.
May good sustain you in this difficult time and may your dear memories be revisited many, many times!

I've had the pleasure of working with Sharon for many years. Her smile and "good morning" will be forever missed. She also taught our oldest son and he is very sad that his first teacher has left us. Our thoughts and prayers are with Wayne, Tamara and Nathan. We know how difficult this is. Rest assured that the world is a much better place for all of the lives Sharon touched. She was a gift to all of us.

To Sharon's Family!
My heart goes out to you! I feel blessed to have had such a phenomenal, inspiring and amazing person in my life and my kids lives. I will forever remember the many years as a volunteer, I got to watch her smile lit up the class room and hallways. Sharon was such an amazing role model and one that I could only hope to aspire to be some day. Her care and concern for her students, co-workers and volunteers is why she is so loved...she showed so much respect for others and in turn got respect from everyone she who came into contact with her. She inspired others to be great to be the best possible person possible. Her patience and soft hand was what a true teacher is about. She left an amazing mark on everyone she came into contact with. Just want to let you know that she has forever touched my heart and the heart of my family. May the loving memories you have help you through the days ahead and comfort you when the days seem so hard. Hugs!

The first time I met Sharon was at kindergarten registration, 7ish years ago. She got down on one knee & started talking directly to my child, before even striking up a conversation with me, and I thought - what an amazing woman! She truly loves & values kids, and she did. Our 3 children were not in her kindergarten class, but they all felt her love & instruction. She was such a kind & compassionate person and I thoroughly enjoyed the times I got to spend with her at school. My deepest condolences to her family and her school family, and all the children & their families whose lives she graced with her joyous smile. You will be forever in our hearts.

Just looking at her last text to me: "I just want to come and hug you two!! (I sent her a picture of me and my dog on a walk) I am having a good day with people like you in this world." She was always thinking of others. So beautiful inside and out. The world became a little less bright when she left us so we're gonna have to carry her legacy forward.

Sharon was an incredible human in all sense of the word. Her unwaivering commitment to her students was something that was both immeasurable in effort, love, and joy. She taught so many (myself included) the building blocks of life which we take with us for the rest of our lives. Twenty years after she taught me kindergarten, I returned to work with her as a colleague, and that same genuine soul was still there to once again teach me so many important lessons as a teacher. Still full of smiles, well wishes, and optimism for the next generation of Millet youth. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts and souls of the students she taught, teachers she worked with, and the classroom which she loved so dearly. The world is certainly a better place thanks to Sharon. Although I do not know her family or friends outside of school, my sincere thoughts and wishes are with you during this difficult time.

Sharon was the most genuinely kind hearted person I've ever known. Her patience, caring and good nature, are something I very much admired and I think has helped me be a better parent. My daughter Zoe and son Noah, were both students of hers, and not a day went by where there wasn't some story of what cool, nice or fun thing Mrs. Saunders did that day. She was well loved by everyone who knew her, and her loss is going to be felt by many.
