My heart goes out to that side of my family. Big Ab was the best. Always called me Nicodemus and I have no idea why. Sorry I couldn't make it up there for him. Take care and God bless.

I loved Big Ab. He was my idol and the greatest coach I ever knew. Also, he was a great man, husband, father and friend. My prayers go out to his family as I have enjoyed every moment spent with the Rush family. i am blessed to have had the opportunity to spend time with Big Ab at Polar Star Field, his house with Abbie, Duck, Stan and that great lady Jane, Breezy Heights, out of town tournaments that can never be matched in the fun factor, all games, events, banquets and the list goes on. Thank you Big Ab as you were the Greatest!

I will never forget the day Abbi came to my house to pick me up for a football game and my mom chased him down the driveway with a broom - had the greatest time that day- we laughed all the way to the game!

Abby was instrumental in me starting my wrestling career in 8th grade. He enforced the fact that you have no friends when you're on the mat. Abby always supported me and encouraged me throughout my wrestling career. He will surely be missed by his family and by the community. God bless and peace be with you.

I've heard many stories about Albert and the Rush family from Ray Campanelli. The two of them will be "doing their own thing" now that they are together again. The two of them did so much for the Avella sports program. Albert will be sadly missed.

Please accept my deepest sympathy at the loss of Abbie. He was really a great guy and always very positive about life. As a former Avella resident, I know how much he did for young people in the town. I was one of them. He really supported all of us when we played sports and even later in life. He was a real friend and will be missed by many people.
