Charles S. Wright Sr.

Charles S. Wright, Sr., 90, of Florence; Hanover Township, passed away on Thursday evening, October 24, 2024, in the Greenery Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Canonsburg. He was born on August 23, 1934, in Deep Valley, W.Va., a son of the late Victor and Pearl Barnhart Wright. After attending the Union High School in Burgettstown, He worked as a supervisor of the blast furnace at Weirton Steel, from where he retired, and was an active member of both the Burgettstown and Hanover Township Volunteer Fire Departments. He is survived by his loving wife, Catherine Daske Wright; children, Charles S. Wright, Jr. and wife, Bonnie of Industry, and Debbie Resnik and husband, Dan of Burgettstown; grandchildren: Charles Wright III (Jennifer), Alexis Wright (Mark DeCaria), Brian Resnik (Haleigh), Brad Resnik (Elizabeth) and Olivia Resnik; great-grandchildren: Caleigh and Connor Wright, Avery and Evelyn DeCaria, Pearl, Rhett and Maren Resnik; brothers: Fred, Victor and Larry Wright; a sister, Rhonda Smitsky; and many nieces and nephews. Services and burial in Grandview Cemetery, Florence will be held privately for his immediate family under the direction of Slater Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown, PA 15021.
