Chris Chambers Obituary

Chris Chambers, 64, of Washington, was taken too soon on Sunday, May 16, 2021. Born February 7, 1957, Chris was a son of the late Blanche and Milford "Mitzi" Chambers.

He is survived by his wife, Ann Marie; and two sons, Evan and McKenzie "Mac"; three siblings, David (Joyce) Chambers, James Chambers and Mitzi Chambers, all of Washington; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews whom he cherished.

Chris Chambers was the President and Co-Owner of Chambers Insurance Agency where he worked since graduating from West Virginia Wesleyan College in 1979.

Words on a page cannot do justice for the lasting impact he had on his family, business and community. Chris gave every ounce of himself to helping others no matter if it was family, friends or those he did not even know. He was the ultimate man of service in both his personal life and in his professional life, always making himself available at all hours of the day. He had a relentless work ethic and impeccable attendance as he rarely, if ever, took a day off. Chris had an amazing ability to recall the most minute details of customers, their families and businesses. He had unwavering pride and was extremely dedicated to his craft as he could not rest knowing something was left unfinished. He was beyond joyed when his sons, Evan and Mac, became the 3rd generation of the family to join him at Chambers Insurance.

Chris was a family man as much as he was a working man and never missed a sports game or extra-curricular activity. Whether someone needed a pep-talk or a shoulder to lean on, Chris was always there. He was immensely proud of Mac's football achievements at Trinity High School and then at Gannon University. He loved visiting New York City with his wife, Ann Marie, especially when his son Evan attended Fordham University. He was never afraid to make it known how proud he was of his boys.

He did not seek attention, yet he was a man that people did not forget. Chris had great integrity, a comforting presence and enviable range. He could rub elbows in Manhattan with New York's finest at his favorite spot, the St. Regis Hotel's King Cole Bar, or simply share the company of old friends at Washington strongholds like the Union Grill or Angelo's. While he was not flashy, he was always well-dressed, well-groomed and took pleasure in his appreciation of the finer things in life.

He owned several successful racehorses over the years and, to this day, was an avid fan of harness horse racing. When he did allow himself a brief break at work, you could find him browsing results from the previous day's races as to always keep tabs on the many horsemen who are customers of Chambers Insurance.

Chris was a 1975 graduate of Trinity High School and was awarded the school's "Distinguished Alumni Award" in 2019, one of his proudest achievements. Trinity was near and dear to his heart and he was always willing and ready to help the district in any capacity. Chris was a fan of all Pittsburgh sports, especially the Steelers. Chris and his family have been Steelers season ticket holders for over five decades and he rarely ever missed a home game. He greatly appreciated his family's military service and was an immensely proud American.

In every sense of the phrase, Chris Chambers was a class act.

It was Chris' wish that in lieu of flowers, any memorial tributes be made in the form of charitable donations to GROW Living Stones, P.O. Box 13077, Pittsburgh, PA 15243.

Friends will be received from 4 until 8 p.m. Thursday, May 20, in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson at East Katherine Avenue, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, Supervisor/Director, Susan Falvo Warco, Director, S. Timothy Warco II, Director.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 21, in the funeral home. The public is welcome to attend both the visitation and memorial service. Guests are encouraged to wear a facial covering. Condolences may be expressed at www.WarcoFalvoFuneralHome.com.

I knew Chris and was a cousin but my most memorable time I saw him was at an all star baseball game at Peters Twp. Where his son a left handed first baseman for Washington played against my Son Matt Chambers another left handed 1st baseman. Though we were cousins it was the first time we had met( with such a large family) anyways Chris had came to our dugout to introduce hisself to Matt. As well to wish him luck and the team luck.
Just a real class act. We played later that year and I saw him couple more times. But he left a lasting impression on me and my son. Rest In Peace I know you will be greatly missed. You definitely made an impact
On everyone.

Chris was a super family man! He entrusted my momma and our family to care for baby Evan. We ALL feel in love with their family. Even MY young family felt part of their family. Evan will always be my mum's baby. He will always be a little blessing in MY OWN LIFE. Anne Marie is my sister. I love them endlessly. Julie Erb Ansell
