Dorothy Hartley Obituary

Dorothy King Hartley, 90, of Carmichaels, died at 8:52 p.m. Thursday, June 23, 2016, in WHS-Greene hospital, Waynesburg.
She was born September 21, 1925, in Waynesburg, a daughter of the late Clyde and Grace Leona King.
Mrs. Hartley was a graduate of Waynesburg High School and resided in Carmichaels most of her life.
She was a member of Greene Valley Presbyterian Church in Carmichaels and a former member of Order of the Eastern Star.
Mrs. Hartley owned and operated Dorothy's Beauty Shop in Carmichaels for many years.
She enjoyed crocheting and was an accomplished seamstress having made many articles of clothing for her family for many special occasions. She especially cherished the company of her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
On December 9, 1946, she married Kenneth M. Hartley, who died October 12, 2006.
Surviving are two sons, David F. Hartley and wife Karen of Eighty Four and Frank D. Hartley and wife Maria of Latrobe; two daughters, Mary M. Zimmerman of Waynesburg and Ruth A. Osborne and husband Gary of Carmichaels; 11 grandchildren, Shannon B. Smereczniak (Jeff), David J. Hartley (Jenn), Brian L. Zimmerman, Abby Z. Bilinsky (Jeff), Kevin B. Zimmerman, Joyce M. Edgar (Darrell), Jack K. Waggett II (Kristen), Jeffrey N. Waggett (Stephanie), Joseph L. Waggett (Brooke), Sarah C. Hager (Patrick) and Rebecca L. Hartley; 15 great-grandchildren, Hannah, Justin, Jonathan, Dylan, Grayson, Jackson, Benjamin, A.J., Katie, Mckinley, Gracie, Tasso, Dayden, Kian and Jayce; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are two brothers; seven sisters; and a son-in-law, Jack K. Waggett.
Family and friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Yoskovich Funeral Home, 724-966-5500, Martin J. Yoskovich, director, 300 South Vine Street, Route 88, Carmichaels, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 1, with the Rev. P. Keith Larson officiating. Interment will follow in Greene County Memorial Park, Morgan Township.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Greene Valley Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 363, Carmichaels, PA 15320.
