John R. Baker, Jr., 76, of Burgettstown; Jefferson Township, passed away Saturday afternoon, May 29, 2021, in the Washington Hospital.
He was born on May 5, 1945, in Sewickley, a son of the late John R. Baker, Sr. and Ruth Reed Baker.
A graduate of the South Side Beaver High School, he worked for J&L Steel in Aliquippa and retired from Climax Molybdenum in Langeloth.
He enjoyed working on classic cars especially his 1950's Chevy Truck, working crossword puzzles and playing cards.
John is survived by his wife, Shirley Wolanski Baker; his three daughters, Johna, Jenelle and Tammy Baker; three step-sons, Greg, Nick and Brad Baker; three grandchildren, Shauna Anderson Moore, Terry Diamond and Clayton Baker; three step-grandchildren, Emalee, Hanna and Ethan Baker; four great-grandchildren, Kayden, Avery, Sidney Diamond and Marilyn Moore; four sisters, Virginia Bailey (Rich), Elsie Green (Dave), Evelyn Walls (Bill) and Barbara Slopek (Bob); one brother, Kenneth Baker (Toni); and several nieces and nephews Deceased in addition to his parents, are two sisters, Olive Maximovitch and Mary Jane Stover.
To honor John's wishes, there will be no public visitation or services. If so desired, memorial donations may be made in his memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 www.stjude.org Arrangements are under the direction of the Lee & Martin Funeral Home, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown, PA 15021

Very sorry to hear of Russ passing. I knew him from working at the Climax plant in Langeloth. I always enjoyed our conversations, what a great guy. My sympathy to the family. George Gilbert

Russ you was one of the kindest best person I have ever had the pleasure of meeting.you knew anything when it came to vehicles and making them run and having fun doing it.you will definitely be missed by many who had the pleasure of knowing you.god bless and may you Rest In Peace.our condolences to the family so very sorry for your loss of such a wonderful gentleman god bless.
