Robert Lydic Obituary

Robert "Bob" Clair Lydic, Jr., 72, formerly of Peters Township, passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 11, 2025, following a brief illness. Bob was born November 18, 1952, in Penn Hills, to the late Robert, Sr. and Carolyn Lydic. He was an Eagle Scout, volunteer firefighter for Penn Hills for 10 years, and a vice president for a food decorating company. He is survived by his daughter, Sara (Michael) McKinney; son, Matthew "Matt" (Melissa) Lydic; and his beloved grandchildren, Andrew Robert and Max McKinney, and Mason and Madison Lydic. Bob is also survived by his brothers, John (Ellen) Lydic, and Richard Lydic; and loving uncle and aunt, John and Beverly St. Clair. Bob was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids. Bob enjoyed taking care of his lawn, watching Pittsburgh sports, and NASCAR. One of his favorite activities was cooking; his children's friends each had a special dish that he would personally make for them. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Cathy Koch Lydic, who passed almost four months ago. A celebration of life for Bob and Cathy will be announced at a later date in Pittsburgh.
