Stanley Butkus Jr. passed away Tuesday, October 9, 2018, in his home in Cecil, after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. He passed in the arms of his loving wife of 38 years, Jamie Jansante Butkus, who retired as a reading specialist from McGuffey School District.

He was born October 7, 1943, a son of the late Stanley and Mary Butkus.

Stanley was a 1961 graduate of Chartiers Valley High School. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He went on to become a police officer with Scott Township, from where he retired as chief of police after 43 years.

Since his retirement in 2008, he enjoyed traveling with his wife.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his two children, son Stanley Butkus and daughter Cheryl Scala; stepson Brian Konya; sister Barbara Pollock; grandson Dylan; stepgranddaughters Allison, Madeline and Lila Konya; and many cousins, nephews and nieces.

A private family remembrance will be held at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services Inc., Joseph P. Salandra, LFD, owner/supervisor, Darla A. Tripoli, LFD, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120.

Cheryl and Stush,

I am very sorry for your loss! I believe if you could read your father's mind his thought would have been one as this:

"How beautiful to find a heart that loves you, without asking you for anything, but to be okay :

You showed true love to him always!! Be proud as I'm sure he was!

Love
Tracey
