Joshua Lee Short, 42, of Humble, Texas, died March 16th, 2020 after a valiant battle with cancer. Joshua was born 12/06/1977 to Lee and Carol Short. While stationed in Fort Bless in El Paso, Texas, Joshua met Ruth (Diaz) Short and they were wed in 2002, 9 years later their daughter Lizette was born.

I remember when we were kids and we would play up in the trees at your house and go horseback riding in the area when we all lived in Mexico. Amy broke her arm and I don't believe we were allowed back up the trees. I remember Sarah and I shared a horse that decided to go bathing in the Lake Chapala. It took adult supervision to get us out. I remember playing video games with you and the Gutierrez'. Those were great times. I have very fond memories of you, your family and the times we spent together. May you be welcome through the pearly gates my childhood friend, my brother in arms. If St. Peter for some reason says let me think about it... We can always get an M1 Abrams and ram through that ole gate. There's no reason you wouldn't be there. You loved god. You cared for your family. You served your country. You were an all around great guy. Many people are and will continue to love and miss you. Be well up in heaven my old friend...

During times like this I can only say be still and hear Gods voice. As you walk in his path know that he is guiding you through the the hard times. I lean on Jermiah 29:11 in my walk, keep it close to your heart.
