Fred Taylor Obituary

Fred B. Taylor of Humble, died Friday, January 9, 2026 at the age of 83. He had been hospitalized due to a stroke suffered December 9, 2025. On Tuesday, January 6, 2026 he was released to home hospice care and passed away 3 days later.

Fred was born November 23, 1942 in El Paso TX, to Dorris Gaddis Taylor and Fred Taylor Sr. He attended public schools in Houston and graduated from Austin High School in 1961. He joined the Army and served from 1964-1966 at Fort Eustis, VA. After finishing time serving in the Army Reserves in 1970, he attended the University of Houston, graduating in 1974 with a Communications degree.

Fred worked for Cameron Oil and Hydril as a Technical Writer and took pride in the meticulous nature of this work until he retired from Hydril.

Fred spent many of his retired days volunteering at his church, creating art for the backyard, designing landscape with the same meticulous detail and fishing. He also loved to spend time with family.

Fred is survived by his wife of 35 years, Daisy Lynd Taylor. Fred also has 4 step children that he took in as his own children; Lee Ihle of DeRidder, LA., Kim and husband Bruce Zarosky of Spring, Chris and wife Tara Bodin of Oak Ridge and Michele and husband James McCreight of Kingwood. Fred's grandkids include Tim Maddox, Amy Temple, Emily Felan, Madeline McCreight, Lainie Bodin, Kyleigh Zarosky and Joseph McCreight. He also has 2 great grandchildren, Lexi and Ryder Hammer of Sulpher, LA.

The services will be held Monday, January 19, 10:00 am at Houston Northeast Church, 18000 W. Lake Houston Pkwy. Humble, TX 77346. 1942 ~ 2026
